Amazing Spider-Man follows the life of Peter Parker, a young adult, who acquires superhero powers after being bitten by a spider. The comic book is suitable for both youngsters and adults as it explores important life questions. After a one-time appearance in Amazing Fantasy, in 1963, Amazing Spider-Man was published for the first time as a separate magazine and quickly became one of the most popular comic books ever. Amazing Spider-Man was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, but through the years its script writers and artists changed a number of times, which is reflected in Parker's maturity and the way the drawings look. While there are several more titles about the same character, Amazing Spider-Man is considered the original one, the one where all the villains have appeared for the first time and where Peter Parker grows from a teenager to a young adult. Parker's life problems and his, sometimes, bad luck with his fight with crime bring him closer to readers. Events such as September 11 and Spider-Man helping the firefighters make the comic book even more realistic. Amazing Spider-Man comes out monthly with a circulation of about 100,000 and is published by Marvel Entertainment Group, Inc.
