Atlantic Monthly is one of the oldest American magazines - it was founded by a group of writers in 1857 in Boston. The magazine is geared towards the well-educated people who would like to explore political, economic and cultural issues deeper. Until recently Atlantic Monthly was strictly a New England magazine. However, its headquarters were moved from Boston to New York due to a publisher change, bringing along changes in the editorial team and today the magazine focuses on broader and various American life issues. Along with several featured articles, each issue offers "The Agenda" and "The Critics" sections, where major world affairs or intriguing cultural events are discussed with topics varying from the war in Iraq to planting papayas in Massachusetts. The Atlantic Monthly is the publication of today's dynamic people - informative and, at the same time offering valuable ideas about spending quality time or your next month's vacation. The magazine is published 10 times a year with a newsstand-only annual fiction issue published first in 2005 to replace the short fiction stories offered in each issue until then. The Atlantic Monthly has a circulation of 425,000 thanks to The Atlantic Monthly Group.
