The magazine is the ultimate lifestyle publication for the modern black men and women, including advice on family and relationships, on carriers and travel, on health and fitness, on fashion and style, food recipes and much more. Moreover, Ebony publishes articles focusing on religion, social awareness, news from the world of politics and sports and many other topics of interest for the black society. Ebony is also famous for the family oriented beautiful photographs showing black models advertising different products and has become known widely as the first magazine to feature such advertisements. Ebony was founded by John H. Johnson in the autumn of 1945 and has been published since then by the Johnson Publishing Company in Chicago.
