Healthcare Strategies "Bayer" Sponsors the 10th Annual American Legacy Magazine Multicultural Healthcare Awards

“Know Your History, Know Your Health” has been the directive of American Legacy's cornerstone event for 10 years running. This year, the evening was charged with new energy as participants in the awards ceremony and panel discussion celebrated the recent passage of the national health-care reform bill. Donna M. Mendes, M.D., F.A.C.S.-senior vascular surgeon at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital and associate clinical professor of surgery at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons-was one of two superstar professionals being honored for their contribution to African-American healthcare. Addressing the crowd gathered at the Uptown Grand, a chic Harlem venue, Dr. Mendes proposed a new slogan for American wellness: Know Your Numbers.
