International Justice in Africa: the International Criminal Court Bares its Teeth Many Africans resent the ICC, but recent events suggest that they may now be less able to ignore it

The International Criminal Court in The Hague is about to open a formal investiagtion into post-election violence in Cote d'Ivoire at the request of the country's new president, Alassane Ouattara. This could lead to the indictment of Laurent Gbagbo, his despotic predecessor, whose refusal to cede power after losing an election led to hundreds of deaths.
