Against The Current

Against the Current is a publication of Solidarity - a left-wing organization with leftist activists and scholars as its audience. This bi-monthly magazine focuses on a variety of current issues, all presented through a leftist perspective and provides news and in-depth analysis. Reviews of interest to anti-racists and feminists find their place on the magazine's pages as well. The most important forums and events connected to the magazine's ideas are covered by different authors who share with the readers their different view points. The "In Memoriam" section presents the achievements of people, who have recently passed away and who have dedicated their lives to social justice and equality. "Review" focuses on books and independent movies that have an impact on today's society while the humorist page “Random Shots” brings some freshness to the magazine. Each issue also has a separate section where several letters to the editors, usually following the magazine’s left line, are published. Today Against the Current has a readership of several thousand subscribers.
