People magazine is a pop culture lifestyle oriented magazine focusing on celebrity gossip, photos and trends. It is also well known for its exclusive first-to-see photos of famous people.

The magazine accentuates on the latest cultural news and events (music, movies, books, art and nightlife) and publishes interviews with well known artists and public personalities as well as articles on interesting hi-tech, political and social topics. People has special periodical issues, such as "The Sexiest Men Alive" and "50 Most Beautiful People". In 2006 the magazine had a large audience of 3.7 million readers of all ages. People is issued every week and its first copy was published on March 4, 1974 with the actress Mia Farrow the cover.
